Dear Graduands,

Greetings.

It is my pleasure to invite you for the Ninth Graduation Day of our college, scheduled on 28th March 2010 (Sunday) at 10.00 am at the College Auditorium.

You may be aware that our Institution is making steady progress and you would be delighted to note that the students belonging to your batch have secured 26 University ranks which include three university ranks secured by the First batch of B.E. Aeronautical Engineering. You would be happy to learn that in this Academic year, the Department of Biotechnology has been accredited by NBA and approved as a Research Centre by Anna University Chennai to offer M.S. (by Research) and Ph.D. programmes. The Department of Management Studies has been awarded ‘A’ Grade by Business India.

A new programme, viz., B.E. Civil Engineering with an intake of 60 seats, has been introduced in the academic year 2009-10.

The Research and Development activities of the college have been steadily progressing and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India has recognized our institution as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO). The TIFAC CORE in Machine Vision started in August 2008, has successfully developed a Prototype Model for quality control and has generated a consultancy revenue of Rs.5.00 Lakhs.

In the placement scenario, M/s. TATA Consultancy Services have continued to recruit more candidates from our institution and this time 131 of our students have been selected by the IT Major. The Alumni Association of the college (RECAL) has been registered and the Alumni day was organized on 27th December 2009. To strengthen the interaction with the Alumni, this would be a regular event in December, every year.

The college has been preparing to become an autonomous institution under Anna University, Chennai and the inspection by the UGC was over in the last week of January 2010 and the decision is awaited.
