About Us

Rajalakshmi Engineering College is one of the leading ISO-9001-2000 certified NBA and NAAC accredited college established under self-financing scheme in 1997. The college has been growing from strength to strength in the last 20 years and moving ahead to become a Centre of Excellence in Engineering, Management Education and R&D.

The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department was established in the year 1997, offers UG, PG, MS(By Research) and Ph.D. programmes.It has been recognised as research centre by Anna University. The programme was accredited by NBA.

About Make-A-Thon

Make-A-Thon is a two day event which tests the mettle of a modern day student and also makes them realize their potential. A theme is incorporated for the Make-A-Thon. Major industrial problems regarding the theme will be given to the brightest young minds with a fresh perspective on various problems, which can lead to further brainstorming and implementation.

Basic Information

Eligibility and Team Size

Students across various branches of engineering and technology can participate. Minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 members per team.

Smart City will be the general theme.

Registration

A registration fee of Rs 500/- to be paid online. Account details are mentioned in the registration forms. Only the registered students are eligible to participate. PAYMENT DETAILS IS GIVEN.

Award

Best projects will be awarded with cash prizes. All participants will be given participation certificates.

Instructions

  1. Students from all streams of engineering can participate.. The specifics will be mailed to the participants after registration.
  2. The team must register themselves on or before 05/09/2017. Proper college ID cards must be provided on the day of the event.
  3. Minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 members is permitted in a team.
  4. Transportation will be provided to all the participants. The routes and timings can be viewed at www.rectransport.com on the day before the event.
  5. Teams will be given an unique problem statement associated with the theme at the start of the event, for which the participants have to find a solution and demonstrate it as a working prototype or a project.
  6. Participants can bring essential components or can purchase at stalls which will be available at subsidised rates. It is recommended to bring the programmable circuit board like arduino, raspberry pi or anything the student is comfortable with. Laptops are compulsory. Components that are needed for the particular problem statement can be purchased on spot.
  7. Each team must submit the abstracts within the stipulated time and penalty will be given if delayed. Plagiarism will be taken very seriously and can lead to disqualification.
  8. Two breaks will be provided to the participants for refreshment and snacks which will be provided.
  9. There will be respective checkpoints throughout the event to ensure that the teams are progressing well and to make judging effective.
  10. The winning team will be provided with cash prizes. All participants will be provided with certificates.
